What was flying over
Great
Bay in Newington, New Hampshire
in the winter of 1909

In the
winter of 1909 a great airship, blimp type object, was seen flying
over the Great bay that separates Newington, New Hampshire, the
future home of Pease AFB, and Dover, New Hampshire.
The object had yellow lanterns and was very big.
Some thought it was a balloon and some thought it might have
been an airship with lanterns on it.
But what would be flying in December of 1909?
This object was seen in many northeast states
and towns. It was seen
in Salisbury,
Mass. and over the city of Newburyport in 1909.
It seemed to follow the river all the way up to
Haverhill, Mass.
It was also seen in the town of
Salisbury, Mass, which mesmerized people up
and down the Merrimac and Piscataquis river.
The source was never found.
However some people speculated that the dirigible/balloon was
the same as the one that Tellinghast had advertised he built during
that same time frame, but that was never ascertained.
So what was the object that hovered over great Bay, the
Piscataquis River in Portsmouth, Dover and the Northeast of
Mass. in 1909? Was it a
balloon? A dirigible as
some thought, flying in December in the coldest months of the year?
What went up and down the coast and into the areas of future
sightings in the decades of the 50s, 60s and 70s and still continue
to this day.
This dirigible/balloon that was lighted by
lanterns in 1909 and had no heat, that we know of, and was seen
flying in the dead of winter.
So who and what was it that controlled it?
We may never know!
The strange thing is that it was also seen near the mouth of
the Merrimac River in Newburyport, Mass. and several people near a large factory also watched
it as it made its voyage to and from the ocean to inland water ways
and all the way up to the coast of
Maine.
Perhaps Mr. Tellinghast had a secret we do not know about?
The people who saw it, and even the reporters of the
newspapers, could not explain what it was.
Tellinghast, I believe, did not fly his airship until 1915.
The same thing happened over
California
in or about the same years.
Could he be in two places at the same time?
On both coasts there were sightings by thousands, if not
millions of people who saw this dirigible/balloon type object fly
during the same decade. ...In the skies of
Newburyport, Mass.
and in the Piscataqua
River, almost 100 years
later, they are still seeing enigmatic objects still coming into
ports, rivers that were traveled over by UFOs and are being seen as
circular discs and flying dirigibles.
