"Back in the early to mid 1960’s when I was about seven or eight years old I saw a meteor.  It was late afternoon and I was outside standing by a car my dad was working on, and I heard a roaring, hissing noise and looked up to the southern sky and saw this giant boulder traveling across the sky.  It was bright red, white hot with sparks flying off in all different directions.  My dad was under the car and I kept yelling I was seeing a flying saucer.  He said I was crazy and finally stood up and saw the meteor as it hurled out of sight.  It was rocking side to side.  It was incredibly huge and had a blue-white vapor trailing it.  I was so excited by the event, I was shaking.”

At 9:00 pm, A large group of people sighted an object.  From a newspaper article:

“Former selectman Arnold W. Spencer reported seeing a bright cigar-shaped UFO with blunted ends, hovering in the eastern sky about 9:00 pm.  Then it suddenly moved off to the south at high speed, lighting up tree branches as it passed, disappearing in about thirty seconds.  The UFO was dark scarlet in color and had bands or streamers of pulsating light running vertically through the body.  It was definitely defined.

“Just as we were passing a large open field in the countryside, Margaret shouted, ‘Ray, what is that thing over the field?’  Since she often teased me about flying saucers and since the sun was just appearing after a thunderstorm, I thought she was referring to it in jest.  When I laughed and told her she couldn’t fool me, she grabbed me by the shoulder and said that she was not joking and that I’d better look or I’d miss it.  Well, I did look but we had passed the field.  I searched for a place to turn around but by the time I did, the field was empty.  Margaret told me that it was silver and facing sideways to the road as it hovered over the field at tree-top level.  She noted that it had a short stubby swept-back wing jutting out from its side.  It had no rudder or vertical stabilizer.  We reported it to the Air Force, which responded with a few general questions about it.”

A couple were on their way home to Portsmouth from Canada, traveling through northern N.H. when they noticed a bright white light getting closer to them.  At one point, he got out of his car to get a closer look and saw a UFO, close up enough to see figures in the windows.  Afraid, he got back in the car and they drove off, arriving home two hours later than they expected.  Some time later it was discovered through hypnosis that they had been abducted and given medical examinations.  This turned out to be the first and also one of the best-documented cases on record, the Betty and Barney Hill abduction.  There were three radar confirmations of tracking an unknown from Pease Air Force Base, Concord airport and a Vermont airport.

A family stopped to see about renting a canoe on a road to Rands Pond.  Mother and child waited in the car, and spotted a star shimmering in the sky.  It came from a pinpoint of light dancing in the sky to unbelievable light, lighting up the whole field.  It got as low as the treetops and as large as the field.  The child jumped out of the truck and ran toward it and the mother screamed to stop.  The child ran back to the truck. The craft then went from huge, back to a pinpoint of light and shot out of the sky.  It lasted about five minutes.

1965_____________________Portsmouth

“The whole area around Pease Air Force Base, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, was inundated with UFO sightings in 1965.  So much so, we had an additional duty assignment called UFO Officer that was manned by a pilot or a navigator on three eight-hour shifts around the clock, just to take the telephone calls.  (John G. Fuller wrote the book ‘Incidents At Exeter’ about UFO sightings in the vicinity of Exeter, New Hampshire, in 1965.  Exeter is about 10 miles from Pease AFB.)  At that time, a Captain was working with me in the 509th Avionics Maintenance Squadron.  He pooh-poohed all the reports of UFOs – until he was the UFO Officer one night.  The next morning he came to my office and said he had received about two dozen phone calls with similar reports, many from people whose integrity he didn’t doubt – the crew of a Coast Guard Station, two State Police officers, two B-47 aircraft commanders, Security Police guarding aircraft on the ramp at Pease, etc.  He had copied the sightings from his telephone log.  I got out a map and we plotted the sightings by location, time and direction.  Apparently, something that glowed bright came toward Pease from the northeast, did a square right-hand turn just south of the base, and exited the area to the northwest – at about 4000 miles per hour.  He asked ‘What do you make of that?’  I shrugged: ‘Just going somewhere.  Didn’t land.’  He said ‘Sheesh!’ and went back to his office.  I didn’t tell him about Betty and Barney Hill because he was having difficulty digesting this information.”

"A New Hampshire newspaper article recounted an incident reported by a man traveling from White River Junction to Concord, N.H.. on Route 4, before Interstate 89 was built.  As the man approached Enfield his car engine suddenly and inexplicably died.  As the man opened the hood to look for loose wires, he heard an all-pervasive humming sound.  He looked up and saw an object moving away from him.  As the object disappeared, the humming sound decreased, then suddenly the car engine spontaneously turned on.  He reported the incident to the local newspaper.  Hostile letters to the editor followed, accusing the paper of sensationalism to sell newspapers.  But one letter from an engineer in Detroit said the car’s behavior was typical of a car involved in a flying saucer incident.”

Newspaper article:  “Another incident of unidentified lights seen in the sky was reported by Mrs. Caroline Ballou of Lakeport.  Mrs. Ballou said she was startled by the ‘awesome’ sight of a strange but bright yellow beam of light shining from somewhere high in the sky.  The light, which seemed to be coming from the southwest, shone into her window for only a few seconds and her first thought, a searchlight, she said, but the most disturbing aspect was its odd yellow glare.  Mrs. Ballou said she had an impression of some unusual sound at the same time, but as she is hard of hearing, it was not too apparent.  Mrs. Ballou reported her experience to the local police station and officer Harry Hamilton went to the area in his cruiser, but by that time could see no indication of anything unusual.  No one else had reported seeing a similar sight. Mrs. Ballou said her sighting of the strange light came before she read in the newspapers of the sighting of mysterious lights Friday night by Matthew Rybezyk of 106 Morse road, Manchester, whose television set stopped operating when a light passed overhead."

May 1965                              Lebanon

"Myself and several other guys from school were hanging around the fire eating hotdogs and drinking coca colas.  Our campsite was on the very top of this hill we called ‘Baldy Mountain’. Baldy is the highest hill for a dozen miles around.  It was quite dark and I don’t recall seeing stars or even noticing the sky at all when someone said ‘hey look at that.’  We stopped what we were doing and saw an orange globe sitting just above the hills, maybe 7 or 8 miles away to the north.  It was absolutely stationary but looked to have a kind of swirl on the surface like molten lava or melted steel.  We at first said it must be some kind of experiment from the observatory at Dartmouth College.  Then the more we looked at it, the more we could not be sure how far away it was.  I thought it was just like looking at the sun when it first becomes visible in the morning.  One thought it was a planet, but it was way too big and visible.  The more we gazed at the object, the stranger it became.  A dull reddish orange globe just sitting over the distant hills.  We soon became distracted in animated debate about what this object could be, when someone said, ‘hey, it’s gone.’  Not one guy had kept an eye on it.

Some 20 years later, I ran into 2 of these guys that still live in the area.  I asked them if they remembered the globe in the sky.  Their answer was a resounding ‘hell, yes."

"Quite frequently I have checked sites looking for reports of this incident with no results. I was about ten years old or so.  It was June or July, when my dad (Ret. Navy/Coast Guard) heard a report on the local radio station (WLNH) that there was a strange event occurring over a local cove.  I don’t remember which area, but I do recall it not being more than twenty minutes away from the center of town where we lived.  My dad grabbed his camera, said let’s go and we headed out to the area in question.  We were only able to get within a half mile, where we could see a bright orange light over the area through the woods. There was already a crowd, with many vehicles lining the road, which was blocked by police cars, inhibiting further encroachment by civilians.  My dad walked to a group to talk.  As we stared at the odd glow that seemed to sink into the surroundings.  The people my dad spoke to told him we were not allowed any closer as the police had made statements about possible radiation.  A local doctor my parents knew was there.  He lived in the area and told my dad that he had seen the object floating down from the night sky before it took up station hovering just over the water.   We stayed for hours staring at the glow, with the rest, until the police and fire responders told everyone to leave, as the object was not, and there were concerns for our safety…It was a large cylinder object that emitted an orange/green glow, remaining for five hours.”

“A police Sgt. Joe Farnsworth, was cruising along Hampton Beach about 4:00 am and came upon a car with two boys in it.  He guessed in their late teens.  ‘As soon as they saw me, they came running to the cruiser.  And they were scared to death, I mean scared to death.  Both of them.  And this one boy said, ‘you’re never going to believe what I am going to tell you!’  Right away, the way they were acting, I checked to make sure they were both sober.  And they were.  No liquor on the breath, nothing like that.  They were just plain hysterical.  So they told me they were going down the boulevard and this thing came in from the ocean and stopped short, they thought it was a plane trying to land and they didn’t want to get involved underneath it.  Then this thing stopped, too.  But when they went up the boulevard straight, this thing suddenly came at them.  That’s when they pulled over, the thing shot off out of sight and they were too hysterical to do anything until I pulled up.”

At 1:45 am, “Five siblings and one cousin all awoke in their bedroom at the same moment.  The room was filled with a heavy, bright red mist, stifling in terms of heat and humidity.  The apparent source was beyond a high window in the room.  Then they heard the rattling of metal trap doors on the far side of the house leading to a cellar.  As the oldest, the seven-year-old girl was urged by the others to lead them into the kitchen, beyond which there were the locked trap doors, to determine whether there was an intruder.  Pulling a chair to the sink, she pulled open the window and confronted the face of an entity, sketched under hypnosis as a typical ‘grey,’ who was standing on the trap doors, looking up at her.   Startled, the girl leaped down.  But the others, not having seen the face and being curious with her 6-year-old male cousin, staring at a domed disc hovering just above a sandy area of their property.  The same or an identical entity was standing in distant shadows.  The two children were compelled to walk toward the vehicle, at which point they were levitated through an opening on its underside and into a brightly lit room.  Each was prone and paralyzed on an examining table or platform.  An entity then performed an undetermined procedure on the girl’s lower body, using an instrument likened to a long pencil, on the end of which was a tiny ball with needle-like extensions.  When the procedure was completed, the two were levitated back through the bottom entrance and dropped to the ground.  They ran back to the house where they discovered the other children, who were likewise scared and excited.  Through a window, they spotted two more identical craft hovering nearby.  They returned to their bedroom and resumed their sleep.  Ground traces were found the next day on a nearby field.”

“I was at the beach in Rye, N.H., it was about 11:30 pm, when I saw it come down toward the water at incredible speed, and instantly stop at about 50 ft. from the surface.  It then started cruising around on an erratic course.  It seemed about 250 ft. long, and about 80 ft. in diameter at the blunt end.  Instead of it being the disk one would usually associate with UFOs, it was in the shape of a teardrop.  In the midsection there were some markings that looked like they were painted on the hull but they were difficult to make out at the angle I saw them.  It was steel blue in color and made a slight glow.  There was a brilliant yellow spot about 8 ft. in diameter in the center of the blunt end.  As it cruised it made several sharply executed turns, always moving with its blunt end forward.  This went on for about ten minutes and then it suddenly stopped, and I don’t mean slowed to a stop, it just stopped.  It hovered there for three minutes and then slowly descended to about ten feet from the water and emitted a bluish-green light from the bottom.  When the light struck the water there was a sharp crack then a fain gurgling that went on for twelve minutes.  When the light withdrew there was another sharp crack and the gurgling subsided.  It hovered five minutes more then rose to about four hundred feet, turned its pointed end down, instantly accelerated to an unbelievable speed and an instant later was gone.  I waited for the shock waves that should have accompanied the sudden departure but they failed to come.  While cruising it came to within 200 yards of me.”

“I was about ten years old.  My sister, I and friends were out sledding one winter night.  We all became aware that hovering right above us was a huge triangular object with one light on each point.  It made no noise.  It made three quick zigzag motions, ascending very fast and very high up, so high up it became a small point of light.  It moved that great distance in a second.”

Spring 1966                                         Rye, North Hampton

“I don’t remember the date, but it would be in the police records for Rye or North Hampton, N.H.  I was out on a date, after a dance, so most likely a weekend.  We were down by the beach and came up one of the back roads between Rt. 1A and Rt. 1.  I remember I stopped on a small bridge, and a house was on a small hill, in front of my car, and to my right.  Over my head was a very strange sight.  I stopped to get a better look.  I pulled off of the road and left my car running.  Just over us was a round shape with colored lights – whirling around the edge, red, yellow and blue…it seemed to have dark spaces ringing it as well, which I always thought looked like windows.  The machine itself was quite large and very visible.  Not just a light or a flash or streak.  It sat there long enough to really see it and it was low enough also.  It had slowly slow in view and stayed stationary for about 5 minutes while we viewed it.  I couldn’t hear over the noise of my engine, so I leaned in and turned off the car.  After a few minutes it took off like a bat out of hell and flew in the general direction of Pease AFB.  I dropped my friend off and headed home to call the police.”

Between 4:45 and 6:15 am, A waitress observed an unusual craft for one and a half hours.  At times it appeared to hover, but then it moved in a hopping motion.  It changed brightness.  “During the observation period, two bright lights were observed above the beach moving toward the vertical light.  These spots were about the size of peas and moved with a skipping motion, sometimes fast, sometimes slowly.  They came together at the top of the vertical object.  But as they joined, there appeared to be three lights instead of the original two.  These lights then left the large object from time to time, ranging low over the water, disappearing at times behind the hills at Crane’s Beach.  One object, elliptical in shape, dark except for a faint glow that revealed its outline, moved low over the water towards the house.  It moved to within one quarter mile of the house and disappeared behind a small island in front of the house.  Mr. and Mrs. Mac Gilvary never did see the object leave, but they didn’t go out to the island the next day to investigate nor did they go to Cranes Beach to investigate for tracks.  Mrs. MacGilvary did call the Coast Guard the next day to see if there were helicopters flying that morning looking for the cruiser that had disappeared that week.  The answer to her question was that nothing was flying at the time.  The night was clear with no wind.  The moon was not visible but the stars were.  It was about half tide and the water appeared to be quite calm.”

"At 3:00 am, on Monday morning, three young people whom night officer Victor Miller later described as badly frightened, burst into the station house of the Littleton Police Department shouting about a red glow on the water and a thing that had scared them while they were fishing.  It was a few minutes before they were calm enough to tell their story.  Richard Hansen and his wife Cindy, and a friend Michael Stinchfield saw something that they couldn’t identify that terrified them.  The officer took the three back to their fishing spot on Moore Lake, on Rte. 135.  At 1:00 am when the three got there to fish for horned pout, it was quiet, dark and no moon.  After 2:00 am a red glow could be seen about a quarter mile north of where they stood.  It was partly obscured by a rock ledge that extended out into the lake.  They noticed there weren’t any sounds.  No frogs croaking, no animals moving around in the woods, no noise at all.  The red glow moved from behind the rock ledges to right in front of them, about thirty feet out from the dock, the glow seemed to emanate from an object lying motionless in the water.  It was a whitish mound about two feet wide extending about a foot above the surface.   Just above the waterline on the object were two round markings, which looked like red glowing eyes.  Behind the mound was something bigger but they couldn’t make it out.  On impulse, Mr. Hanson cast his lure at it.  As he reeled in, suddenly the object raced toward the dock.  He threw down his rod, and all three raced to the car.  The area around the dock was glowing red.  They sped off to the police station.  At 3:00 am, with the officer, they found the fishing rod on the ground.  There was still an eerie silence in the woods.  The red glow was gone.  Other witnesses; John Smith, a school shop teacher, also reported seeing red lights on the lake that night, and Roger Caswell, who lives nearby, reports noting eerie stillness on that night.  Workers at Moore Dam Electric Power Station had seen strange glowing red lights.”

cigar shaped craft moved slowly, over the road and settled down in a field fifty to seventy-five yards away.  Lights came on and blinked around the craft.  There were many lights with only one coming on at a time.  There were other lights that stayed on.  There appeared to be windows above the centerline.  I ran back to my friends, we all went back; the cigar shaped object was gone.  I looked around and noticed the other craft were gone.”
